Hi, Scott Lichau here and I have a confession to make I remember many years ago when I was growing up in Northern California, businesses operated in a very different way!

Going to the shop with my mom and the owner of the business knew us by name and always had a ready smile for all their customers. These days it seems like customers are an annoyance- an unwanted interruption in their day.

I see some of the same things happening online too. It seems like the days of serving others are over!

Ok, maybe I am exaggerating things a bit but I do hope you understand what I mean. I am a big believer in helping and serving others and I think that if we focused on serving and helping others that we would not only feel happier but I believe we would have greater success in our businesses.

I recall a quote by a man called Zig Zigler, he said "You can have everything in life you want, if you will just help other people get what they want." I believe this is true What it means to me is that in business we should serve others first and profit comes later. When I help people it feels very different. I had people message me and with I want to do business with you because I am different than the others. When we help other people to achieve success first then we are ensuring our own success later.

We should learn who it is that we are serving and then help those we serve to succeed. In return we will have earned our customers faith and trust and they will become our client for life, and come back over and over. Helping people is the real way to succeed!
